It is after reading skills are established and the student is very comfortable with sharps and flats and playing in different keys, that the Kirk Book series begins to use key signatures. As in previous books, the goal for Level 2 Books is to provide the tools, reinforcement and review needed to maximize reading, interpretive, technical and artistic performance skills.
Over 300 carefully graded songs and short studies are provided in a multitude of styles and keys. Short studies, under the titles of “Key Signatures” and “Short Takes” provide added, regular attention to multiple-key literacy.
