As in the previous books, multiple-key literacy is given continued emphasis and left hand strength and independence is continuously reinforced. The pieces are stylistically varied with ample opportunity to advance expressive musicianship and artistry. Duets, in which both part (secondo and primo) are level-appropriate, are a regular feature.
As usual, the grading of difficulty for the pieces is uncommonly gradual to encourage internalized learning versus rote learning. Continued use of the Kirk Book series provides the tools, reinforcement and review needed to maximize the reading, interpretive and technical skills necessary for well-rounded musicianship.
